HomeCost is run by Grand Reviews, the data controller for information you give us.

Sharing a price

We store the job type, price, month and year, the area, the first half of the postcode if you give it, and property type. We don't ask for your name or address. Prices are published only rounded and combined with others. We keep a scrambled code derived from your internet connection for a short time to prevent abuse.

Asking for quotes

We collect your name, mobile, postcode, email if you give it, and job details. We share them with up to 3 local trades matched to your job so they can contact you, and with nobody else. Each trade is an independent business and handles your details under their own privacy policy. If we text you a code, it's only to confirm the number is yours.

Listing a business

We publish the business details you give us. Sole traders can ask us to change or remove their listing at any time.

How long we keep things

Quote requests are kept for up to 24 months. Anonymous price data is kept while it's useful (we only display the last 3 years).

Your rights

You can ask to see, correct or delete your information, or object to how we use it by emailing petesweb@outlook.com. You can also complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.
